Paisley Abbey & Ubiquitous Chip
Winter weddings always warm the heart and none more than this Winter Wedding in Glasgow! Helen & Jamie chose to get married in Paisley Abbey, followed by a wonderful meal and party at the legendary Glasgow restaurant the Ubiquitous Chip. Being back in Glasgow’s west end made my heart happy! And it was really special to capture them in Ashton Lane at night!

Pre-Ceremony Fun at Paisley Abbey
I started my coverage at the Paisley Abbey , capturing Jamie looking very dapper in his kilt from Houston Kiltmakers. It was wonderful to see Helen when she arrived. She was positively glowing with happiness! Pin Up Hair Glasgow and Sarah Jane Macinnes Make Up were with her in the morning for hair & make up. Helen was wearing Monsoon wedding dress and had the most beautiful, enormous bouquet from Janette Mitchell Flowers.
Wedding Ceremony at Paisley Abbey
At Paisley Abbey it is a requirement for the photographer to sit right at the back up in the balcony. Never fear though I had my super zoom lens with me and was able to capture them at the alter saying their vows! Their guests were excellent at the confetti gauntlet – throw up not down people! And then it was wonderful to do their group photographs outside with the Abbey as a backdrop. Helen & Jamie then headed onto the Ubiquitous Chip in a 100+ year old car! (Spoiler they made it!)

When the guests arrived at Ubiquitous Chip they were entertained by the wonderful Michael Cassidy Music as they enjoyed their drinks & canapés. Helen & Jamie were really keen to be present on their wedding and have fun with their guests. They really wanted me to focus on lots of candids of their guests which I was more than happy to oblige with! Taking photographs of happy people – yes please! The Chip was set up beautifully with long tables for the guests. The favours were from the Lochwinnoch Soap and a lovely treat for their guests!
Wedding Couple Portraits in Ashton Lane
After the meal; Helen & Jamie were happy to go outside to Ashton Lane and get some atmospheric photographs. I used an off-camera flash to backlit them so that they glowed in the fairy lit lane! After we headed back in for cake cutting and dancing! Drams Ceilidh Band got all the guests up for a ceilidh! What a day!
